Domain/Precedent Research

I am interested in exploring physical computing, fabrication, industrial/product design, designing for good causes and social change, digital fabrication, materials, and maps. I have found some interesting overlaps between these domains. Including:

Using knitted textile structures that have been biologically solidified as sustainable construction materials.

4 research questions:

I am confused about what exactly what kind of research questions I should be asking, so these may be way off base, but..

1. How can I use recycled materials/sustainable materials to create well designed products?

2. In an increasingly automated society, will kids be receptive to design enrichment programs?

3. How does politics influence the products we buy and use?

4. Are analog maps relevant in a digital world and how can we encourage there use through art?
